When I was a student in highschool, I spend endless minutes waiting for the bus. In those moments I use to think about the empty car (driver only) that ran in front of me. My main fantasy was to receive a lift to school, leaving the cold and windy bus station and have a sit in the smooth and comfortable heated car.
Carpooling is the answer for bus-station-dreamers, for lonely travellers and most of all for commuters. It works really easy: it is sufficient to sign in, specify your travel/journey and create your profile (available sits, smoker etc.). There are a lots of websites for each country that connects users. Through the websites account is possible to create crews for the journey and accord time and place for meeting.
Carpooling represents a great alternative to the public service, especially in those areas not really well served with public transport.
